It was, needless to say, a hit with the crowd that earned them more offers to work with prestigious companies such as Porsche and Jaguar.

Building upon that success and sensing an opportunity, Porrima Simulations was created as a joint venture with VEAO Simulations to provide holistic simulation training solutions for the military community. Given the high level of realism and richness of the experience, it was only natural for Porrima Simulations to continue their working relationship with D-BOX.

In our experience, there’s nothing out there that works like D-BOX does. Their high-fidelity motion system provides the most accurate, real-life sensations for all levels of pilots. From what we’ve seen, nothing even comes close to the feeling.

As one of the Directors at Porrima Simulations, Clive Elliott knows that building a flight model or vehicle requires a wealth of information. But more than that, it needs leading-edge technology to make it come to life.

Of course the business is evolving, and clients are naturally looking for that next big thing that will give them the edge in a very competitive marketplace.  Fortunately, Porrima is not content to rest on their laurels. They are currently focused on integrating VR components into their portfolio of services. Once again, D-BOX is making all the difference in the outcome.

 At the start, one of the biggest issues we’ve had to face has been motion sickness. However, when we tested VR with the D-BOX platform, we found it actually helps relieve the nausea because users are getting all the sensations they expect to get. The system provides them with the motion anticipated in a real flight situation, so users are getting a very realistic idea of what the sensation would actually feel like in an actual plane without the queasiness.

As for the future, Clive is extremely encouraged by Porrima’s success at ITEC this year. As a result, the ambitious company is fielding lots of calls from key players in the simulation and training industry.

When it comes to simulation projects, the challenge for a lot of companies is finding an immersive experience that’s both highly-realistic and extremely cost effective. Especially in a world where expectations are rising and budgets are shrinking.
