Technical Lead, Applications

The Technical Lead, Applications will be responsible for the admission, design and implementation of all software projects related to desktop, mobile and web applications. They will be accountable for delivering these software products and ensuring their quality by leading all aspects of product development within the team.

• Be accountable for the deliverables of the projects under your responsibility.
• Clarify product requirements to determine the scope, feasibility and level of effort for projects.
• Establish and document the technical requirements enabling team members to deliver the requested features.
• Lead tactical planning by involving stakeholders, defined based on strategic planning communicated by the manager.
• Report on the progress of projects at appropriate times.
• Actively participate in software development 60% to 80% of the time.
• Comply with and promote the processes and tools adopted by the department.
• Identify and prioritize technical debt in collaboration with your manager.
• Conduct design and code reviews, with a focus on coaching.
• Stay abreast of new trends and best practices, and be responsible for collaborative adoption with your manager.
• Define new architectures, data models and technology choices in collaboration with your manager.
• In collaboration with your manager, take charge of human resources management, including but not limited to performance evaluations, monitoring individual objectives, talent development, coaching and mentoring.
• Actively participate in the hiring process.
• All other tasks necessary to achieve the team’s objectives.

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science or equivalent training, combined with five (5) or more years of professional experience in software design, including at least three (3) years in software architecture.
• Work experience in an Agile environment
• Work experience in software development for desktop and/or mobile and/or web applications
• Good knowledge of C#/.NET languages/frameworks
  
• Good knowledge of Agile methodologies
• Solid foundation in object-oriented design
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Analytical mind, autonomy and professionalism
• Motivated to work as part of a team in a Lean environment
• Strong organizational skills and ability to ensure deadlines are met
• Good command of spoken and written French
• Good command of English (reading and writing), as the applications the engineering team works on are intended for our international clients
