ESG Initiatives at D-BOX—It's on!

March 13, 2023

2022 was a pivotal year in D-BOX history! For the first time ever, we adopted a clear vision as to how we can do things differently to reduce our environmental footprint, to ensure the company's sustainability, to participate in the full development of our employees and to be a model of change for our business partners.

For our fiscal year ending March 2023, D-BOX has focused on a three "Ps" strategy: products, production and people (staff).

ACTIONS THAT GO BEYOND WORDS

1. PRODUCTS : A SECOND LIFE FOR OUR PRODUCTS

D-BOX has launched its first-ever recycling campaign for its used products across all business segments. As a leader in the haptic technology industry, D-BOX offers its business partners the opportunity to recuperate the defective parts they may have accumulated over the years, despite the very low failure rate of its products.

By recovering parts and returning them to the market for a second life, we reduce the need to source new components and, as a result, lessen our dependence on a struggling global supply chain.

2. PRODUCTION : AN ORGANIZATION THAT CARES ABOUT ITS MATERIAL WASTE

Higher up in the production chain, D-BOX now proudly takes part in the selection of packaging materials used by certain suppliers to reduce our environmental footprint. We’ve also analyzed any products that were over-packaged, working with our suppliers to review and improve on the packaging of certain products.

In order to recover some waste from our commercial activities, D-BOX has signed an agreement with Kruger. Kruger will ensure that our cardboard waste is recovered directly as raw material, without any intermediaries.

Furthermore, as a manufacturing company, D-BOX has implemented procedures for the recycling and recovery of metal. All of our production stations are now equipped with metal recycling containers.

Although not a new undertaking, D-BOX is also continuing its shift to becoming fully digital by increasing our efforts to reduce paper documentation across all teams within the organization (going paperless).

3. PERSONNEL : SENIOR MANAGEMENT THAT LISTENS TO ITS EMPLOYEES

In order to adapt to the new reality of work—following a pandemic that disrupted the habits and expectations of employees—D-BOX senior management improved its flexible and hybrid work policy.

Better defining how we want to work together gives employees the opportunity to organize their work schedule in a way that works in harmony with their personal and family responsibilities, all while participating in the company culture and contributing to the business objectives of the organization.

Finally, with the health and well-being of its employees at heart, D-BOX has installed a brand-new gym in its offices! The room, equipped for functional training and with a multi-sport court (pickleball, badminton, volleyball and basketball), allows employees to move right in the workplace.
