ENTROL MOVES FORWARD WITH A NEW LEVEL OF SIMULATION

When it comes to providing flight simulation and training tools for the industry, being good isn’t good enough anymore.

CONTEXT:  THREE PRINCIPLES TO SUCCESS

Since their founding in 2005, Entrol has been developing and manufacturing leading-edge helicopter and fixed wing FNPT and FTD simulators. And from day one, the company has been driven by three basic principles: price, quality, and service. While it may sound simplistic, it seems to be a recipe that is working.

In 2015, the company opened the first permanent showroom of Entrol simulators in Torrejonde Ardoz, Madrid.

Luis Olarte, CEO of Entrol, explained that this space “gives our customers the opportunity to discover the work and quality that lies behind each of our simulators.”

Designed according to CS-FSTD and FAA FTD directives, the simulators are covered by a comprehensive after-sales program that is unparalleled in the industry. Today, the company is growing around the world with a strong presence in countries like Germany, Turkey, UAE, and South America.

According to Olarte, this success is attributed to our “commitment to deliver the highest quality throughout every stage of the manufacturing process and create an end-product that exceeds the expectations of a very demanding industry.”

CHALLENGE: EXCEED EXPECTATIONS OF COMPETITIVE INDUSTRY

Despite Enterol’s success, competition is fierce in the industry, so their simulators need to create a level of realism in the training protocol that blurs the line between virtual and reality like never before. This authenticity of the training is exactly what airlines, operators and flight schools are searching for.

As CEO, Olarte understands the industry’s needs and is answering the call. With next generation software and hardware flight simulation tools, Entrol is increasing the efficiency of training programs and, even better, reducing the costs associated with operating them.

SOLUTION: D-BOX ENABLED MOTION-CUEING SYSTEM

To that end, Entrol incorporated a new D-BOX-enabled, motion-cueing system into their simulators in the fall of 2016. The innovative technology fit perfectly with the company’s overall mission to enhance pilot training by creating a new level of realism in simulation.

Utilizing four D-BOX electromagnetic actuators strategically positioned underneath the cockpit, the new system delivers precise vibrations and realistic movement throughout the entire training experience. This means pilots and trainees aren’t ‘watching’ a situation on-screen anymore, they’re actually immersed in the mission by ‘feeling’ every second of it. With D-BOX, different flight conditions like turbulence, overspeed and ground contact feel exactly like the real thing. This realism means trainees can react in real time and take the appropriate steps to respond.

RESULTS: A SAFE, COST-EFFECTIVE WAY TO STAY ABOVE COMPETITORS

Not surprisingly, this commitment to delivering the best experience has made Entrol the second largest manufacturer of FSTD helicopter simulators in the world.

“Adding D-BOX to our simulators has created the level of realism that we were always aiming for,” says Olarte. “Combined with the 200° x 70º spherical visuals and the accurate mission scenarios, we can deliver hyper-realistic, advanced training situations that will give pilots an uncompromising sense of a real cockpit. For our clients, this complete experience has proven to be a safe, cost effective way to improve skills and fine-tune reflexes for a range of operations including HEMS, SAR and fire fighting.”
Luis Olarte, CEO, Entrol

Despite the company’s success, Olarte is not one to rest on his laurels.

“To really grow as a company, we need to anticipate the changes that lie ahead. While we’re very proud of what we’ve achieved so far, our focus is on constantly improving our simulators, refining our services and developing the tools and resources that will help our clients succeed for years to come. Because when they prosper, we do too.”
