Summary
The Installation and Maintenance Specialist will be primarily responsible for ensuring that installation projects run smoothly. They will be responsible for planning and providing effective support to ensure that installations are completed successfully. They will need to effectively guide the local installation teams when the project is carried out with remote support. May occasionally be required to travel for installation projects requiring D-BOX supervision and training. May travel for equipment inspections, repairs, or updates.
Their technical expertise will be essential in solving complex problems and avoiding installation delays as much as possible. Will regularly participate in monitoring operational sites to ensure optimal operational performance.
Your mission
- Pre-installation
- In collaboration with the account manager, validate the equipment required for each project prior to shipment. Ensure that site preparation documentation is shared with the on-site project manager with remote support. Ensure that the external installer has everything they need (seat count, electrical plans, etc.)
- Create and assign the task of writing the commissioning report ensuring compliance to the person responsible for the installation.
- Installation
- Primary support role consisting of guiding and responding to questions and concerns from on-site installers, providing technical expertise, and handling communications between D-BOX, the theatre, and the on-site installation team.
- Follow step-by-step installation procedures to resolve installation challenges that may arise. In the event of missing/defective equipment, create and track the ticket internally for priority shipment of replacement equipment.
- Document the steps taken to resolve the issue in order to maintain a record and allow the ticket to be escalated to engineering if necessary. In collaboration with the relevant departments, develop a strategy for implementing problem-solving methods with the aim of reducing the recurrence rate.
- End of installation
- Create tickets if, in exceptional cases, activities must be completed after installation is finished, and ensure that they are completed. Obtain feedback from installers for each installation and ensure that it is fully documented according to established standards.
- Validate the commissioning report ensuring compliance and share it with the theatre.
- Officially transfer support and service to the Support Department and ensure partner satisfaction once installation is complete.
- Maintenance:
- Regularly participate in daily maintenance tasks: filtering alarms, updating and deploying new firmware and software versions.
- Participate in monitoring and managing the life cycle of D-BOX equipment and planning updates.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in improving installation methods and updating documentation.
- Play an active role in the development of new D-BOX products as well as in installation and safety during product implementation.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts—identifying opportunities for improvement, developing and implementing solutions. Collaborate with other departments, particularly engineering, to find viable solutions for the entire company.
- Actively participate in customer service; troubleshooting methods, training, workshops, consultations, etc.
- Resolve installation cases assigned to them.
- Train support agents at the request of the support manager.
Your DNA
- College diploma (DEC) in a relevant field, such as electronics, mechanics, computer science, or other training/combination/experience deemed equivalent
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a technical specialization position
- Knowledge of networking, Windows-based computing, and audiovisual equipment would be an asset.
- Attention to detail, analytical mind, autonomy and resourcefulness
- Proven ability to manage projects
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a good team spirit
- Good priority management and stress management
- Strong aptitude for manual dexterity, general electronics, and electromechanics
- Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written, in order to communicate with international partners and clients
- Knowledge of AutoCAD software (an asset)
- Knowledge of a third language (an asset)
